Walking Through

Walking Through – concept for a kinetic urban sculpture

Walking Through deals with the tension between people and architecture. In a colonnade-like frame made of steel girders, which echoes the façade structure of modern buildings, a stainless steel panel rotates – moved by the wind. The cut-out dynamic figure contrasts the austerity of the architecture.

The bending of individual cut-out segments creates a relief-like figure from the two-dimensional panel, which constantly changes its shape through the interplay of light and shadow. The sketchy lightness of the kinetic figure breaks through the static nature of the architecture – dancing, as it were – and fills it with life.
